Restoration Projects

Regional Terraforming is building a portfolio of hands-on restoration work across the Pacific Northwest — starting close to home in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Every project here is real ground we're healing: rebuilding native habitat and bringing back the plants and wildlife that belong on the land. This page grows as the work does — here's what's active now, and what's coming.

Projects led by Steven Westbrook, M.S. Environmental Sciences (Oregon State University).

Active Projects

Two areas of work are underway right now. Both start from the same principle — restore the living systems first, and the land recovers on its own.

Field Focus: Wet-Meadow & Oak-Prairie Recovery

A close look at one plot — what it looked like at the start, the methods used, and how it's responding season by season. Short, specific, and photo-driven.

Native Species Reintroduction

Native species reintroduction means bringing back the plants and animals that once lived on a piece of land but have vanished from it. Most of our work starts with plants — reestablishing native wildflowers, grasses, and trees like camas, native bunchgrasses, and Oregon white oak — because restoring the plant community is what invites the pollinators, birds, and amphibians back on their own. Where formal wildlife reintroductions are involved, we work alongside agencies and follow the permits and recovery plans that protect at-risk species.

Field Focus: Bringing Back the Prairie Plants

The specific natives going back in the ground, why each one matters, and the wildlife each is meant to support — for example, Kincaid's lupine as the host plant the endangered Fender's blue butterfly can't live without.

The Scio Home Site — Our Living Lab

Before a method reaches a client's land, it's tested here first. Our home acreage near Scio, in Oregon's Linn County, is a working proof-of-concept where every technique gets tried, documented, and refined across real seasons. It's why our recommendations come from experience, not theory — and it's the most honestly documented restoration project we have, before-and-after and all.

Completed Projects

We are just launching our LLC and will have our completed projects here as we finish them.

Have Land That Needs This?

If your property could use habitat restoration or you want to bring native species back to your land, let's talk. Book a consultation and we'll walk your site, assess what's possible, and map a staged plan.
